Introduction

　　The Volcano Discovery Hall, which covers an area of about 8,422 m2, has five exhibition areas, namely Interstellar Volcanoes, Oceanic Volcanoes, Land Volcanoes, Volcano Adventure and Colorful Tengchong, offering a total of 12 immersive experiential activities. Based on popularizing knowledge of volcanoes, the Discovery Hall can make the visitors learn more about volcanoes in Tengchong and beyond through interactive entertainment, immersive experience, graphic display and multimedia technology.

　　　The Interstellar Volcanoes exhibition hall provides knowledge about the volcanic activities that has occurred on many celestial bodies in the vast universe. In the solar system, volcanic activities exist on Earth, Io, Enceladus, Triton and Mercury. The exhibition hall offers 2 experiential activities- Static Ball and Star Trek, as well as the instagrammable spot- Dreamlike Starry Sky.

　　You can have a star tour by taking the dome space capsule to simulate the task of collecting the specimens of interstellar volcanic eruption. Effect: It is like traveling in the universe, you may indulge in the shocking scenes of interstellar volcanic eruptions and see the planet moving towards your face and then moving away.

　　The Second Exhibition Hall- Oceanic Volcanoes

　　　71% of the earth’s surface is covered by ocean, and there are many volcanic activities in the ocean. This exhibition hall is designed to let the visitors know more about undersea volcanic activities through popularizing knowledge of tectonic plates, undersea volcanic phenomena such as pillow lava, black smokers, and the origin of life. The exhibition hall offers six experiential activities: Mysterious pyrosphere, abyss of the deep, prehistoric Tengchong, mysterious under sea, deep sea fishing and volcanic roller coaster.

　　Abyss of the Deep

　　　You can see the theme sea world rendered by lighting effect. There will be different effects show under your foot when you move. For example, if you step on a small fish, it will quickly swim away.

　　　Deep Sea Fishing

　　　You can use a toy gun to shoot different marine fish and get game points. This exhibition area is suitable for young children to know halobios through theme wall pictures and partial scenery rendered by lighting effect.

　　　Volcanic Roller Coaster

　　　The VR glasses and swivel seat will make you fall like riding a roller coaster to fly over the famous volcanoes in Tengchong and beyond.

　　The Third Exhibition Hall- Land Volcanoes

　　To date, we have discovered 2,000 extinct volcanoes and 523 active volcanoes on Earth, 455 of which are on land. In this hall, you can get some idea of the world-renowned volcanoes by first knowing their landform and eruption types, and the activities of volcano family three-dimensional puzzle and volcano parkour.

　　Volcano Family

　Desktop three-dimensional volcano puzzle: You can design the desktop three-dimensional model according to the different types of craters such as shield volcano and pyroclastic volcano. The model can be split and combined with the desktop track to different craters. The visitors can enjoy the pleasure of manual practice and have an intuitive understanding of the volcanoes’ internal structure.

　　Volcano Parkour

　You can feel the high speed of racing with lava flow after a volcanic eruption, and use the steering wheel to change lane, change speed or brake for a driving experience of speed and passion.

　　　The Fourth Exhibition Hall- Volcano Adventure

　　　The magical volcanic activities have left numerous natural landforms in Tengchong. This exhibition hall allows visitors to experience a thrilling volcanic adventure through the geological relics of columnar joints, lava tunnels, lava rivers and collapse craters. It offers seven immersive experiential activities: Lava bubble Ship, volcano climbing, lava rafting, treasure hunting from a volcano, earthquake experience room, lava war chariot and soaring over the volcano.

　　Lava Bubble Ship

　　This exhibition area is designed for young children with them wall paintings and indoor pirate ship.

　　　Volcano Climbing

　　It uses the characteristic columnar joints in Tengchong and the indoor rock climbing equipment to let the visitors experience columnar joints climbing.

　　Lava rafting

　　It’s an area for playing bumper car with interactive projection of Tengchong’s geological landscape of lava rivers and collapse craters.

　　Treasure Hunting from a Volcano

　　The magical orogenic movements and spectacular volcanic eruptions have left mankind with many valuable mineral resources. The immersive volcano maze in this area can stimulate the visitor’s curiosity to actively participate in the interactive treasure hunting game for fun.

　　Earthquake Experience Room

　　　You may see the effect of volcanic eruption symptom- earthquake here. The display and moving platform can make the visitors truly feel the furniture’s shaking, falling and the house’s sinking, give them strong and sudden psychological stimulation, and let them know more about the secondary disasters and related elementary knowledge of escape and rescue.

　　　Lava War Chariot

　　It takes Tengchong’s Jingfu Cave as the design prototype, and according to the film storyline, simulates the dark ride tour to panoramically and immersively experience sharp turns, swing, bumps and other movements, and can realistically simulate the effect of climbing, falling and other feelings. The visitors can experience a thrilling and dangerous journey in the them story combing of virtual and real sceneries.

　　Soaring over the Volcano

　　It reproduces Tengchong’s Longcong Mountain. You can take the volcano ejection seat to watch the magma pocket from different angles showed by the giant screen, feel the pressure of underground magma reservoir, the shapes of volcanic vents and other geological states. It’s a large-scale immersive activity for experiencing volcanic eruption scenes which are intensified by the physical stimulation like blowing hot wind.

　　The Fifth Exhibition Hall- Colorful Tengchong

　　Colorful Tengchong: Tengchong is home to rare and typical volcano-geothermal resources in the world. There are 99 volcanoes and 88 hot springs within its territory. The unique volcanic environment endows Tengchong with rich natural resources. The Gaoligong Mountain National Nature Reserve is known as the “world’s species gene pool” for its biological diversity.
